6/8 Battalion

Mission Statement

6/8 Battalion is a newly-established competitive Military Simulation unit run by former and current military personnel from the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.

Clan members will be taught genuine military doctrine from experienced instructors, and organised into sections, platoons, and companies with other like-minded players to form lasting bonds and enjoy a serious MilSim experience. Members will undertake a 4-week basic training course, during which the fundamentals of contemporary military strategy will be taught twice a week, including:

-🌲Fieldcraft
-⚔️Battlecraft
-💣Weapons handling
-📡Radio Telephone (RATEL) procedure
-🗺️Section and platoon-level tactics

Following basic training, recruits will undergo role-specific training for a further 2 weeks, after which time recruits are qualified to join the unit in public games, events, and matches against other clans.

-Infantry
-Junior NCOs
-Platoon Sergeant

More roles, including armoured, logistics, artillery, and reconnaissance will become available following our first intake. Basic training will begin once 9 members have been accepted into the unit.

✔️REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens. 
Applicants must be over 18 years of age. 
Applicants must understand that weekly attendance is expected, and should only join if willing to offer a similar level of commitment as to a sports team or club. 
Applicants should be aware that 6/8 Bn. has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, racism, homophobia, or sexism. 
Applicants should be aware that 6/8 Bn. has an expectation of absolute anonymity.
